The PGA Tour Course You Can Actually Play

Corales Golf Course at Puntacana Resort & Club is where the PGA Tour comes to the Caribbean. As the permanent home of the Corales Puntacana Championship, this P.B. Dye design plays to full tournament specifications — the same setup the professionals walk each year. And unlike many tour venues, non-member guests can access the course with the right connection.

The first 13 holes wind through the tropical landscape of the resort, testing accuracy and course management through palm-lined fairways and strategic water hazards. Then the course opens up to something completely different. Holes 14 through 18 run along dramatic ocean cliffs, with the wind off the Caribbean adding an entirely new dimension to every shot.

Hole 17 is the moment everyone talks about. A par 3 over a natural coral inlet to an island green — there is no bail-out, no safe option, no easy out. You pick your club, you trust your swing, and you commit. Miss it and you're fishing a ball out of the Caribbean. Make it and you'll remember it for the rest of your life. Our photographer will be waiting.

Signature Holes

Hole 17
The Island
Par 3 to an island green over a coral inlet. The most photographed hole in Punta Cana.
Hole 18
The Cliff Finish
Par 5 closing hole along the ocean cliff. The handshake hole — generous but unforgettable.
Hole 14
The Turn
Where the course reveals the ocean. Horizon opens, wind shifts, and the back nine begins.
Hole 7
The Long Par 4
440-yard par 4 through native palms. A true driving hole — the longest hitter wins here.
Hole 3
The Dye Par 3
Classic P.B. Dye design — wide but punishing bunkers, demanding precise iron play.
Hole 15
The Cliff Walk
Fairway runs along the edge of the bluff. Ocean left, jungle right. Breathtaking tee shot.

Practical Information

Dress code: Collared shirt and tailored shorts or trousers required. Soft spikes only. The Corales clubhouse maintains PGA Tour standards — appropriate attire is expected from the moment you arrive.

Best time to play: Early morning tee times (7:00–8:00am) offer the calmest winds and the best light for the oceanfront holes. Afternoon rounds catch the full strength of the Caribbean trade winds — a genuine challenge, especially on hole 17.

Pace of play: Allow 4.5 to 5 hours. The oceanfront stretch from hole 14 onward naturally slows as players take in the views. Hole 17 alone can add 20 minutes when the group in front is having fun. Budget the time — this is not a course you rush.

Level: Suitable for all handicaps. The back-nine oceanfront holes are dramatic but not unfair — the design rewards conservative play. Beginner-friendly tee boxes are available. Our concierge will set up the right tees for your group before you arrive.

The PGA Tour Connection

Playing Corales gives you something most golfers never get: the exact setup the professionals use each spring. The course is maintained to PGA Tour specifications year-round, not just during tournament week. Fairways, greens, bunkers — everything is kept at a standard that a weekend golfer will notice immediately. Greens roll true and fast. Bunkers are raked. Every surface tells you a golf professional cares about this place.

When PGA Tour players prepare for the Corales Puntacana Championship, they spend practice rounds on the same holes you will play on your trip. The same island green. The same ocean wind. The same cliff-top finisher. If that sounds like a bucket list item, it is. Let us arrange it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to play Corales?
Tee times at Corales Golf Course start from $395 per player including cart. Dominican Golf Concierge bundles the round with private transfer and concierge service for a seamless experience.
Can I play Corales if I'm not staying at Puntacana Resort?
Yes — through authorized concierge partners. Corales is not publicly available through standard tee-time platforms. Dominican Golf Concierge holds booking access and can confirm your tee time regardless of where you're staying in Punta Cana.
What is hole 17 at Corales really like?
It is spectacular and terrifying in equal measure. A par 3 of between 130 and 195 yards (depending on tees) over a natural coral formation to an island green. There is no miss that keeps you dry on the ocean side. Wind assessment is everything. Our concierge will give you the local knowledge on club selection based on that day's conditions.
Can I combine Corales with Punta Espada in one trip?
Absolutely — and we recommend it. Our Executive Golf Escape (4 days / 3 nights) and The Ultimate Dominican Golf Tour (5–7 days) both include Corales alongside Punta Espada, Teeth of the Dog, and other top courses. Playing both is what separates a great Dominican golf trip from an exceptional one.
